GM Supplier Discount

The GM Supplier New Vehicle Purchase Program allows eligible employees of select suppliers to enjoy great discounts on eligible new and unused GM vehicles. Eligible employees are active hourly and salary (full- and part-time), not contract employees.

Q:   Who is eligible?
 
A:   Active hourly and salary (full- and part-time) employees of eligible GM suppliers, and fleet and commercial customers, not including contract. Please note that to qualify for this program, you must be a resident of the United States. (Retirees are not eligible for this program.)
 
Q:   What is the discount, and how do I know if I'm getting a good deal?
 
A:   For vehicles other than Saab®, each dealer invoice will list a GM Supplier Discount price. That price is figured at the price a GM employee would pay for that vehicle plus 4%. You can then compare your cost to the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price to calculate your discount.
 
Q:   For Saab, what is the discount, and how do I know if I'm getting a good deal?
 
A:  

The General Motors supplier price for Saab is calculated as the dealer invoice price, less key market advertising, if applicable. Saab provides a GM program/supplier price list which you may request by calling Saab's Customer Assistance Center at 1-800-955-9007. You may also ask your sales representative to show you a copy of the dealer invoice. You can then compare your cost to the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price to calculate your discount.

 
Q:   How long is the discount available?
 
A:   This offer is valid for eligible new and unused GM vehicles retail-delivered through December 31, 2003
 
Q:   Which GM vehicles are eligible?
 
A:   Eligible vehicles include new and unused 2002, 2003 or 2004 model-year GM passenger cars, light-duty trucks, minivans and sport utility vehicles. Eligibility of GM vehicles may change at any time without notice. EV1® and HUMMER® (except HUMMER H2) are not eligible for this program, and some models may have limited availability, especially Corvette®. 2004 model-year vehicles may have limited availability.
 
Q:   Can I receive this discount from any GM Dealer?
 
A:   This program is available through all participating U.S. GM Dealers and is voluntary on the part of the dealers. Dealer participation is on a vehicle-by-vehicle basis. Please inform your dealer of your intention to use the GM Supplier Discount Program during your first contact with your dealer. If for some reason your dealer elects not to participate, you may visit another GM Dealer.
 
Q:   Are dealer demonstration vehicles included in this program?
 
A:   Yes. If the vehicle has less than 7,500 miles and a dealer demo allowance has not been paid on the vehicle. See your dealer for details.
 
Q:   Are dealer-installed options covered by this discount (e.g.: theft-deterrent devices, OnStar®, etc.)?
 
A:   No. Any additional dealer-installed options, conversion/upfit packages, General Motors Protection Plans and other extra-charge items will be supplied at a price agreed upon between the customer and the dealer.
 
Q:   Are any extended warranties included in this program?
 
A:   No, not in this plan, but they are available for an added cost.
 
Q:   How many vehicles am I eligible to purchase or lease using this discount?
 
A:   You may purchase/lease up to two eligible new and unused vehicles per model year. The vehicles must be retail-delivered during the 2003 model year (for purposes of this program, October 1, 2002–December 31, 2003).
 
Q:   Can I order a vehicle on this program, rather than choosing one from my GM Dealer's inventory?
 
A:   Yes, if you order through a participating GM Dealer and take retail- delivery by December 31, 2003.
 
Q:   How can I get a list of Corvette Dealers willing to honor this program?
 
A:   You'll need to check with individual dealers for that information.
 
Q:   Can I combine this discount with current eligible regional incentives?
 
A:   Yes. For specific information on current eligible regional incentives, scroll to the top of this page and point and click on the "Incentives" button. Then, point and click to indicate your location on the map. You will be provided with a complete listing of current eligible regional incentives for your specific location. Or, if you prefer, your dealer can provide you with this information as well.
 
Q:   Can I use my GM Card® points in conjunction with this program?
 
A:   Earnings accumulated by holders of the original GM Card (blue) and The GM Gold Card® may be applied toward the purchase or GMAC® SmartLease® of an eligible new and unused GM vehicle under this program, excluding Saturn®, Saab, HUMMER and EV1. Earnings accumulated by holders of The GM Card (standard) and The GM Platinum Card may not be used in combination with the GM Supplier Discount. Q:   Do I have to purchase or lease through GMAC?
 
A:   You do not need to purchase through GMAC, but all leases must go through GMAC.
 
Q:   Can I use a trade-in with this program?
 
A:   You'll need to check with your dealer for that information.
 
Q:   Does the purchase/lease require a down payment?
 
A:   You'll need to check with your dealer for that information.
 
Q:   How do I get an approved GM Form 1753, and how long does it take?
 
A:   Simply scroll to the top of this page and point and click on the "Request Form" button. Fill out the form provided and then point and click on the "Submit" button at the bottom of the form. Follow the instructions on how to submit your proof of employment to complete your request. Once your employment verification is received at Program Headquarters, your GM Form 1753 will be sent first-class mail and should arrive within three to five business days.
 
Q:   I lost my GM Form 1753. How can I get a new one?
 
A:   You can request a GM Form 1753 reprint by calling Program Headquarters at 1-800-960-3375.
 
Q:   I'm a GM supplier employee who qualified for the GM Supplier Discount before the program was expanded in 1999. Can I still get a form from my GM contact?
 
A:   Yes, as long as you meet the criteria for the original GM Supplier New Vehicle Purchase Program.
 
Q:   Are my family members eligible for this program?
 
A:   No. All vehicles must be titled and registered or leased (GMAC SmartLease) in the eligible employee's name. Spouse's may only be on the title for financing purposes, and then they must be listed as secondary.
 
Q:   Can my company take advantage of this program to purchase fleet vehicles?
 
A:   No. Vehicles purchased under this program must be for personal use only, and must be titled and registered or leased (GMAC SmartLease) in the eligible employee's name only.
 
Q:   How long do I need to keep the vehicle in order to qualify for my GM Supplier Discount Program discount?
 
A:   The vehicle must be retained a minimum of six months if purchased and 12 months if acquired through a GMAC SmartLease.
 
Q:   What is the Choice Plus Program?
 
A:   Through Choice Plus, employees receiving a car allowance through their employer also receive additional OnStar service and 300 minutes of calling time when they purchase an OnStar-equipped vehicle. In order to verify your eligibility, you will need to fax in one of two pieces of information:
  1. A pay stub with employee name and company name showing a car allowance as a line item.
  2. A signed Choice Plus verification form from your company's HR department.
When you purchase a vehicle, the Dealer will activate your base OnStar service at the time of delivery. Please call us back at Program Headquarters or visit onstar.gmsupplierdiscount.com to submit the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) of the vehicle you purchase. Your extended OnStar service will be automatically activated.
